MOVING FOR LIFE DanceExercise for Health® is dedicated to helping people challenged by cancer and aging, through free and low-cost dance exercise classes offered at hospitals, health and wellness centers, libraries and other community-based sites. Their methods are supported by research that confirms engagement in therapeutic dance improves quality of life, speeds up recovery time, enhances survivorship, and reduces the chances of recurrence.
A comprehensive rehabilitation program that combines several therapies including pliates, elements of the Pink Ribbon Program and physical therapy. Foundation Pilates offers a one-on-one tailored program that addresses the specific needs of each client from diagnosis through treatment and into recovery.
Yoga4Cancer, started by survivor Tari Prinster, helps cancer patients and survivors manage treatment side effects and cancer recovery by offering specialized yoga classes, workshops, trainings and research. Y4C offers free yoga classes around the city and free online tutorials. Classes are held in Park Slope, the Upper East and West Sides and the Village.
Iyengar yoga is a practice that helps with the restorative process for those that need to create and maintain bodily health and vitality, mental clarity, emotional serenity, and spiritual well-being. An aspect of lyengar yoga focuses on physical activity for breast cancer patients and survivors.
The Iyengar Yoga Association of Greater New York hosts a weekly free-of-charge class specifically tailored to the physical, psychological and emotional needs of breast cancer survivors, including those undergoing treatment. The Breast Health class takes place on Mondays from 12:00-1:30pm at the Iyengar Yoga Institute of New York, located at 150 West 22nd Street, 2nd Floor, NYC 10011.

Get moving with Pilates. Clients develop core strength, sculpted physiques, flexibility, and cardio fitness. Henry Street Pilates in Brooklyn, NY participates in the Pink Ribbon Program™. HSP owner and founder, Jan Leahy, is a breast cancer survivor and a Breast Cancer Exercise Specialist through the Pink Ribbon Program.
